Charlwood); and rose bowl trophy "Quill Club of Australia, Helen Brelaz memorial trophy, awarded annually for the best short story", engraved with winners' names for 1955-1971.

The Quill Club of Australia was founded in 1935 by the author Bernard Cronin for the purposes of the advancement of the interests of practising writers, and to study the work of authors, particularly that of the members of the Club. After World War Two, Bernard Cronin's writing course was one of the after-war rehabilitation classes and from amongst his pupils many new Quill Club members were gained.
